Hello Everyone!

I am pleased to announce a project that has been in production for the last 7 months and is nearly ready for release! Homebrew Heroes is more than just a magazine, it’s over 100 pages of retro goodness dedicated to all things homebrew. Inside you will find the top 10 homebrew games for nearly every retro console out there from the Atari 2600 to the Sega Dreamcast as well as the history of each system, tech specs, and screenshots.

Ever wonder about the development of homebrew titles?  Well, wonder no more as we have also included interviews with homebrew developers. There is even material for computer fans as we discover the very best demos for the Amiga and Atari ST and look at the best computer art for the Commodore 64, Spectrum, and Atari XL/XE.

Check out the video below for a preview of what's in the issue.  Additional details on how to order will be posted at:  Homebrew Heroes Magazine

Off topic, but I'll mention it because of the UK link. Homebrew Heroes seems to be a UK site.

My experience with UK gamers has not been the most welcoming to date. While I have posted multiple times on retrovideogamer.co.uk, not many seem too friendly on that site.

They mostly seem to be a peculiar sort (I never like to stereotype any group of people), and don't mention too much about NES or Atari 5200 on their forums or you might raise someone's dander.

Just some observations...

It is a UK site.  You have to realize that Nintendo did not have the impact in the EU that it had in the US, so their attitude toward Nintendo is very different.  The 5200 was only a North American console also, so it wasn't really something the Europeans dealt much with.

The magazine was created by folks from the site and I also wrote quite a few articles in it.

I'm not sure how you're getting the vibe that people aren't friendly, though.

Not trying to cause any hard feelings by any means.

The site seems full of 'let's compare' and 'evolution of' threads. It seems like a youtube video link-a-thon and if I interject any comments between video clips there is no response. Now, by no means am I saying that someone should respond to every one of my comments, but once every twenty or so posts might be nice.

Maybe just a cultural difference in what we westerners look for in a forum site, but the main one's who have spoken to me on the site are you and onthinice.

Just saying...

Did you fill out the site survey? If you didn't get a chance, please do: http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index.php?topic=2202.msg30035#msg30035

Now, let's get the thread back on topic. Wink

Have you looked at the preview of the magazine? There's a sample of the content on the site.
